I was at work (i'm a nurse) trying to explain to two other nurses what an osteopathic physician was. One of them has been a nurse for over 20 years. He was like "wtf is osteo physician?" He proceeded to tell me how MD was better b/c he never heard of a DO. Then, after explaining it to him he said oh, but MD is still better, get one of those.

the next nurse kept tryin to convince me that holistic = prescribing roots and stuff. I said an osteopathic physician can prescribe anything a DO can. Then she said Ohhhhh, so a DO can do the same thing but doesn't want to prolong life, and an MD does. Oh and the hospital i work at is run by a family of DOs...

I would have reflexively proceeded to utilize my "DO ninja training" by leveraging a well-placed round-house kick to their noggins. Maybe when they woke up from sleepy time they'd have gained from my administration of my "40-ozs-of-wisdom" kick.

I have just HAD IT UP TO HERE with the AOA requiring invisibility training, and pushing it as an identifying characteristic of the profession, without providing adequate residency spots. For crying out loud, we're just all going to keep running to ACGME residencies in decent locations, fully visible, as if being a DO is something we want people to know about.

MDO....you must be referring to the Mega DO degree. That arcane knowledge requires 7 additional years to obtain, much like a neurosurgery residency.

Well I heard that the Gaiden Dojo is the best, but you can just hit the sewer and see if you can find Splinter. I've heard he meditates under 18th street, but he moves in the shadows so it's difficult to find him.

Not really. Small may argue that you'll get more hands-on experience at small community based dojo. But at large tertiary inner-city dojos you will definitely be exposed to a wide variety of ninja counter attacks.

Thanks 🙂 I think Splinter runs a more inner-city, or I suppose technically under-city dojo. Hopefully I will get to see quite a variety of ninja attacks. 👍
