id like to know what people have to say about this:

have you ever had a moment in medicine when you were like "god, i wish i had gotten into that specialty" ?

I was a miserable medical student on my OB/GYN rotation when I went to tumor board and said "I wish I could be the pathologist". Lo and behold, now I am the pathologist (in-training)

By "I wish I had..." are you asking if we've had a moment when we regretted our chosen speciality?

I think the OP is basically wondering which fields we would choose if we werent in our current field.

16 yr old OP lifestlye specialties include Radiology, Optho, Ortho (not too bad), Anesthesia, ER, Dermatology the #1 lifestyle choice. IMO add Urology is pretty sweet. When I talk to them I think they make good $ and have an nice life, but dealing with genitalia all day is not for me. Basically these fields have the best hours in both training and once you are an attending. In the end though you need to pursue what interests you.

You will figure it out.
