If I'm not sure what specialization I want to go into yet, should i say that? Or should I pick one that I am interested on and elaborate from there? I do know that i want to be a clinical doctor rather than research.

How did you guys go about answering this?

EDIT: 'future career goals' secondary. I wasn't referring to the gap year plans essay.

They don't expect you to know your desired specialty. I think you learn what you're interested in 3rd year of medical school.

Right, so what kinds of things did you focus on in this essay? Academic vs clinical?

Academic medicine, research, public health, health law, international medicine etc...
