Hello I only know of guggulsterone / guggul as a Farnesoid X Receptor inhibitor and was wondering if you guys know of an Rx, a food or a supplement that is an FXR agonist instead.

Does this exist at all?

What I know is FXR inhibition may yield identical benefits as HMG-CoA RIs, but doing so may also increase the risk of cholecystisis/gallstones.

I would appreciate any input. Thanks very much and happy advanced thanksgiving to all.

Someone at kaiser talked to us about this. Only thing I can tell you is that it is likely that most of the information related to such agents is probably in development stage and classified as trade secrets. Have you done a lot of reading on the FXR ? It shouldnt be too hard to make some educated guesses on what types of ligands or structural domains may activate the receptor, and start looking from there as to foods or natural sources.

Hi, type B. Are you working at Kaiser now? Well I found out that cholic acid is an FXR agonist
