Got a Playstation 2.

Got outta gaming but feeling the itch again.

Favorite game was SOCOM NAVY SEALS. Loved the s h it.

Just read Venty's thread about his favorite military game.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

You are me.

Got the big screen waiting to be engaged with military shoot-em-up-s h it.

Which platform would you buy and what is the best military shoot-em-up game?

Mindboggling since theres so much out there. I guess PS 3 is great but is there military software too?

Saw alotta posts about X box. Is that good?

Call of Duty 4 for the Xbox 360.
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfare (and GRAW 2) is pretty sweet too.
.

COD4 for 360. Get this. You'll be more than happy.

You may also wish to check out Battlefield 2 for 360.

Halo 3, while not traditionally military, is a fun one too

Rainbow 6 vegas is a "tactical shooter" where you are a swat dude blowen away baddies in the Palms or Mandalay Bay.

Both games are first person shooters, much different from the 3rd person view in SOCOM. You'll get used to em real quick however.

The PS3 looks attractive but it doesn't have jack squat for games.

BF 2 XBOX 360
COD 4 XBOX 360

I prefer using the computer platform for shooting games, though. In that case, BF:2, with it's system of ranks and unlocks, is still the superior multiplayer game. I hit up COD4 last night on the PC, and while it was good, it was still more of a frag fest, even during the "strategic" maps. I enjoy playing the games where there are fronts and objectives, not just running around and shooting. Oh, and I like vehicles, and BF:2 has the hookup.

well, since i just played call of duty 4 on PS 3, i have to agree with these people. game is just awesome!!!!!!!

hands down... I think a 360 is the way to go. I have or have had them all... PS3, gamecube, wii, and of course the 360. 360 has tons of games to choose from and it offers true HDTV. Graphics and games are great.

The loading time for the ps3 is still a lot slower than 360... which has always bugged me right after I take a bullet through the temple.

COD4
Bioshock
Halo 3
Doom 3
R6 Vegas
Gears of War
FEAR

Let's not forget Gears of War - not strictly "military" but close enough and unquestionably one of the greatest games ever made.

Forgot about that one. If you are going to get the 360 for anything extremely unique, you get it for Gears.

Call of Duty of 4 is the bomb, been playing it on PC for a couple weeks. Love getting a hundred kills on my sniper rifle for the scopes. If u want a game that will literally make u crap urself, F.E.A.R is amazing. Sometimes I would swear that damn little girl was hiding under my bed even made my wife check it out🙂

Plus its fun to blow dudes arms and legs off in slow motion with sparks n' bombs blowing up everywhere.

God of War (PS2)
God of War II (PS2)

sooooo much fun, and so bloody + violent. 😀

Nothing makes me more relaxed after a long day of medicine wards than getting online and straight up murdering people for a half hour........................godamn intern year, i used to like playing Hello kitty island adventure

All I can say is anybody talking about the 360 is dead on. Plus the new chipsets all have straight HDMI output (money!!). Call of Duty and Halo 3 are awesome shooters, and Gears of War II and Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 will be out next year. PS3 doesn't have anything.

The Tomb Raider games for the 360 are also kick a$$. The new one Tomb Raider: Anniversary is sweet.
