I had one gap semester this year due to a family emergency I had to be out of the country for a while. Should I address this in my personal statement or wait for the secondaries? I have already written my ps and would prefer to address this on the secondaries if necessary.
What do you guys think?
Thanks in advance!

It really depends on how your family emergency effected you. Personally, I would mention it in your PS. It wouldn't take much. Just one passing sentence saying how you felt it is more important to take care of family in a time of crisis than one semester of school. A statement like that shows that you care about those around you. Just my two cents.

You could put this briefly on your personal statement. It may also come up on your interviews. Be prepared for that as well.
