So while on the interview trail I met an applicant (at a top tier school) who was going to spend her gap year working for Google. Man, if I was in at Google I'd seriously be reconsidering medicine, but she didn't seem to think it was that big a deal. Would anyone here turn down med school for Google or a similar awesome job?

No. Getting a job at Google is a completely different career and it would probably require a degree in compsci or engineering. It's like comparing apples to oranges. And what do you mean "if I was in?" Are you "settling" for medical school? Getting a job at Google isn't that hard if you go to a good engineering school in California.

You have no idea what you're talking about.

Of course I do. I know a few who did that; they went to Berkely/Stanford and got jobs with Google. What makes u an expert? Your post count?
The fact that Google is the most selective employer in the tech industry? Have you ever written a computer program in your life?
