I'm a recent graduate who is taking a gap year to address my ECs for the next cycle. My current projected stats are

3.88 GPA
517 MCAT (1 attempt)
500 hours of research (1-2 publications 1 presentation)
400 hours non-clinical at local food bank
1000 hours clinical at hospital
2000 hours leadership in undergraduate (president of huge club, ran 1000-2000 person events)
120 hours shadowing (over all fields, 22 hours primary care),
150 hours community service project with special needs child

1.) Are there any areas I should focus on that I seem deficient in? All my current activities are genuinely meaningful to me so I'd like to keep doing what I'm doing if not.
2.) If I believe I could significantly improve my MCAT score, as I only prepped for a few weeks, should I retake it? I didn't realize retaking it could be an issue so I treated the first take as a "trial run".
3.) Any other advice would be most appreciated! I wasn't a pre-med til the latter part of my undergraduate so I don't know all that much about the process of gaining admission to medical school.

Sorry guys! I wasn't clear, I'm taking a gap year TO GET those hours. I definitely don't have them right now LOL. That's what I'll end up having, with my current plan, when I submit my primary next year.

you will have no days off lol

I am taking a gap year, but mostly just so I can enjoy one year of my 20's! 😛 I wish you the best of luck with your goals! 517 is a good score, where are you trying to apply? That should be good enough for most schools (besides the obvious such as NYU).

Volunteer and add hours where you think you can learn the most valuable lessons. Have you worked with diverse populations? I think they just want to see that you have been outside your comfort zone and grown as an individual!

I’m definitely volunteering with people way different from myself in my nonclinical time and it’s been awesome! I’m enjoying myself, and I’m doing 35 hours a week on my busiest weeks and I enjoy most of the time I work. I’ve already been growing as a person a ton and it’s a really chill quality of life so I’m not sure why everyone here was acting like it’s gonna be so hard (I’m on pace to get the hours I said when considering what I already had done in undergrad). Best of luck to you too and I hope you enjoy your year!

But yea I was just making sure that was a solid resume to anyone reading it, I don't know why everyone is responding to everything but my main question ><
