Hi all,

I'm applying this cycle and as soon as I take the MCAT on June 21, I need to look for work, as I am married, my wife is in school fulltime, and I won't be getting school loans anymore (was previously doing a post-bac).

I'm kind of stumped on what job I could be qualified for that would allow me to have a regular income and that I'd only do for a year. Honestly, medically related would be great, but I'm also open to something totally non-medical related.

I have background in: writing, Human Biology degree from Stanford, worked as a Project Assistant for a year for a small consulting firm.

Medical assistant could be an option (one that trains on the job). The doctors I work for prefer pre-med people that are hard-working and serious and will take someone that only will be around for a little bit. I'm not sure how many other offices are like this, but it could be worth investigating? I personally love my job (MA at dermatologist) and I am getting a lot of good clinical experience.

EMT or ER tech would let you have a lot of patient involvement without significant training, especially if you can get a volunteer ambulance position.

Simpsons Reference: Dr. Hibbert stripped his way through medical school under the name 'Malcom Sex" lol
