I know that many applicants nowadays take gap years before heading to medical school and I'm one of those folks. By the time I matriculate, it'll have been two years since I graduated from undergrad and I can't help but feel a bit nervous about my academic readiness. I would love to hear your thoughts on readjusting to school life and taking up better study and life habits to be successful in med school!

in my gap year, had similar feelings.

Gap years are more common now ... a good number of your peers will be in similar situations and some will have taken even more time off than you. One school I interviewed at told me 70% of its students had taken at least one year off.

Beauty of all of this is that no matter if you're coming fresh out of college or you've worked several years on wall street and already have a family, med school is hard. It's a challenge for everyone. And we will all get to go through it together. I don't think I've interviewed at a single place yet where current students didn't express how collaborative the environment is. Certainly having a P/F curriculum would also help you adjust without the pressure of falling behind in class.
