This post is actually for my friend because I did Gateway in the winter. Did anyone hear from the program for the summer session? Did anyone get accepted/rejected? My friend still hasn't heard so I'm asking for her. Thanks

what is Gateway?

Gateway To Dentistry is an externship program offered at UMDNJ. It is a two week interactive program about dentistry. You experience all the fields and get to learn a lot about the profession before actually applying/matriculating to dental school. If anyone is interested, here is the link to apply:

Well, My friend called and somehow she didn't get emailed regading her status. The program admin said that she sent out an email in February stating whether you were accepted or rejected. GOOD LUCK!

Gateway is an amazing program. I would definitely recommend everyone apply. It is also a good idea to call them frequently as they aren't the best at communicating with applicants.

it's free! 2 weeks, 80 hours of dental experience for free. Although I think there is a $25 app fee these days. As for housing and board, you are on your own. They do not include it or have any available. There are plenty of hotels in that area (and not in Newark) that are affordable.
