The SEC one is a real championship. That BCS thing is the fake one. I would have actually rather WVU played Virginia Tech and killed them mercilessly (because it would have meaning) than play Oklahoma.....or in that fake championship game against OSU. By definition it isn't the national championship. The NCAA bans the BCS committee from labeling it as such. It's just another game...perpetuating a stupid system that solves nothing. Hawaii deserves a shot at a theoretical championship game more than anyone. I guess OSU would be next....but if Hawaii isn't allowed to actually ever win the main BCS organization's game....then who amongst LSU, VPI, WVU, Georgia, Oklahoma, and probably someone else I'm forgetting should play OSU? It's all ridiculous and incredibly fake....some idiotic formula in which COACHES have 1/3 of the vote on who gets what. What the **** kind of gangster, insider trading **** is that? Nothing is solved on the field. And, yes, I would definitely be saying the same thing if WVU made it into the fake championship.....and I've said this all along...even when they were #2. In fact, the only reason I wanted WVU to ever win the thing is so that people couldn't accuse me of only saying it because I'm bitter. Well...I'm bitter by nature, but that's beside the damn point. Until there is an inclusive playoff in which every conference champion and maybe a few at large teams settle it all head-to-head there never will be a true national champion. Only fake ones.

So, yes, enjoy your fake championship game. I hate Ohio State and hope to see them crushed, their coaches burned at the stake, and, uh, their fans raped...for good measure....I suppose....

And if this is new to you.....clearly you need to read the NCAA football rambling threads in the main pharmacy student forum. I've got everyone to the point where they call it the fake championship. As they bloody should.

I usually use the term MNC for mythical national championship. Same idea I suppose.

That's too PC. Myths actually serve a purpose. The BCS is just fake. They are the spray on hair of sports. The emperor has no clothes..and never will until he institutes a damned playoff to cover his damn nasty ass crotch nobody wants to see.

I do refer to the powers who keep the current system in place the "BCS Mafia" as they'll go after anyone who'll try to shake the system. Is PC absent enough there?😎

Example: U of Florida President Machen had a playoff proposal until the BCS Mafia got to him. Next up: Georgia head coach Mark Richt after his tirade on the Fox BCS Selection show.

Interestingly, every Ohio State fan I know was bitching about the BCS until it fell into their laps...now they sing a different tune. Bunch of hypocrites. I don't waiver. I was saying the BCS was trash even when it looked like WVU was a lock for it's fakeness. Just read the thread in the main pharmacy forum. An it is trash - unequivocally. Ohio State isn't one of the best teams in the country. They are terrible. LSU also does not impress me. In fact, nobody has really impressed me. Though I do think there are 6-7 teams who could likely beat both of those teams in a head to head game. That's why we need a playoff. No matter what, the fake championship is automatically tarnished. When it comes WVU's time, I want there to be no question. I don't want 6 teams whining about how WVU didn't deserve it. I want a playoff where everything is answered on the field.

If being called "champion" by an organization that isn't seen by the NCAA as the mechanism by which a champion is crowned (hence it's called the FBS division) with several other school that may or may not be better than your school not being given their fair shot is good enough for you, more power to you. I'm not as easy to please.

What you can't seem to get through your skull is that I don't really care if WVU wins the fake championship. I was WAY more pissed off they lost to Pitt than lost a shot at some rich bowl organization's fake championship. To prove this, I invite you to read through the in depth college football thread(s) on the pharmacy student forum. As you will read, even when WVU was #2 and on the way to the fake championship, I continued to call it a fake championship, and continued to express my lack of desire towards being given (not earning) an opportunity to win said game.

The BCS is the same way. Why the hell do I care about some faux paper title that is meaningless? Don't feel like I'm picking on you, the Florida fans were pissed off at me last year, too. Not that I care. It's nothing personal, it's just that the system needs to be changed.

But, yeah, seriously, unless you can come up with an argument as to why the BCS should be considered the legitimate means by which a champion is crowned, I have no reason to continue rambling on about this with you. I'll just continue to assume I'm right. Which I am.

I'm with you WVU---the BCS is horrible--Only way to get a NC is to have a playoff--but then it's not going to happen because you can't make as much money. Being a MIZZOU fan it's obvious the BCS is flawed--granted MIZZOU shouldn't be going to the NC but they should have beat Kansas out for a BCS bowl game. IMO MIZZOU should be playing you guys. On the other side of the coin, I'm SO happy we get to play in a major bowl anyway. And Arkansas will be tough with McFadden running. Best of luck--my prediction is WV 42 KU 17.

(1) Oklahoma will destroy WVA. For some reason, winning the Big East isn't a big deal, you know. I'll take the Big 12 anyday over the Big East.
(2) Hawaii could not stand 5 minutes on the turf against a ranked BCS contender.
(3) The BCS formula is in fact unfair and flawed. But change will not occur in the next 2-3 years, i would assume.
(4) As much as I hate the OSU Buckeyes, I hate Les Miles even more. It's not that I hate LSU... It's just that Miles talks out of his butt too often. Honestly, I'd much rather see Saban coaching at LSU. So I'd like to see LSU lose, pretty badly (even though I have a feeling OSU will not be able to do antyhing on the field).
(5) The SEC is overrated. Sure it's a great conference, but i swear... The PAC-10 does well against the SEC EVERYTIME. USC beat Auburn, Arkansas.... CAL beat Tennessee.... I'd like to see the SEC schedule more PAC-10 teams on their regular season schdedule. Like Pete Carroll always says, "we'll play anyone, anywhere, anytime."

2) We are not going to lose. Dorsey is going to be a machine by then and we are some bad mofos.

3) I think the trojans could 👎have been a better match of for the NC and we will see you next season my friend. Something tells me we are going to play you next season and settle this whole thing with PAC 10.

I don't predict anything about the BCS. Nor should anyone with a brain. Last year Oklahoma was going to crush some crappy WAC team. Last year Ohio State was unbeatable going into the fake championship game. Two years ago Georgia was going to kill WVU by 30 points.

And what happened? OSU got slaughtered, Boise pulled off the miracle, and the Big East has won two straight BCS games - one against the SEC champs and one against the ACC champs. Clearly the average football fan has no idea what's going to happen. That's because there isn't enough intraconference play to truly get an idea of who is better than who. That's another reason why the BCS is a sham.

Yeah, that was a bad loss for the SEC. He only went there so he wouldn't have to live in his brother's shadow (who went to LSU). I wonder if he ever thinks about leaving for the SEC? But anyway, the SEC is not overrated. I believe that every year different conferences come out on top and this year is just our year. Tradition or being scared of which Georgia team (the one that played TN or the one that killed Florida) would show up?

I'm tired of hearing LSU fans brag about how many points we'll win by. I always feel that whenever we go into a big game overconfident (unless it's against Tech, Tulane, or Notre Dame), that there is a good possibility that the other team will win. I'm just superstitious, but I have a feeling that Ohio State is sick of hearing about how they have no chance to win and in turn will win by a point or touchdown.

I agree, but I don't think that next year will be LSU's year to go back again. We have to play Florida and Auburn away and we haven't been too successful at winning at Auburn (due to sleazy referees who don't know pass interference, etc.) plus Florida is looking for revenge for that close game played at LSU. I believe Florida or even Georgia could be headed for the NC next year.
