I'm only a sophomore right now, but I figured it's never too early to get helpful advice from a forum like this.

So my cum GPA is a 3.46, ~3.45 science GPA. I'm not too happy about the GPA, but am trying harder to improve it.

I have a semester of instructor-guided research, and am currently doing research but it's more of a class based research with mentor guidance.

My ECs are pretty slim, consisting of:
-member of Big Brother Big Sister
-over 100 hours of volunteering
- ~50 hours of shadowing a handful of physicians/specialists
- interhall soccer player

Since a lot of my peers already have years of research or are presidents of clubs, I feel like I'm so far behind them in the process. It always seems like a game of catch-up for me so I feel like I reached by coming to this school. It's almost like I'm inadequate compared to my peers and it's discouraging at times.

I guess the reason for this post is to see what else I could do to help make me a more well-rounded person. I'm definitely interested in being involved in more ECs, but wanted to find more health related types.

I'm open to any advice/feedback. Thanks in advance 🙂

Add to this list, if you can, clinical exposure, independent research, and something that you really like, that makes you special, that makes you smile when you talk about it.

What kind of things count as clinical exposure? Is that like shadowing and volunteering?

Thanks
