I've been studying for my MCAT for the past couple of weeks, and it will be my first time taking the test....so forgive me if this question has an obvious answer.
I'm wondering if we need to memorize a ton of formula's or just have a general understanding of how to apply and use formula's. i.e., are we provided with a list of formula's to choose from, or do we need to pull those from our memory bank? Between Physics and Gen Chem there are an awful lot of formula's!

You need to do both. Having a good grasp on the concepts will help you more than memorizing equations though. You won't be given a comprehensive list of equations, but you might get one or two in a passage.

There really aren't a lot of gen chem formulas. And tbh there aren't a lot of necessary physics formulas either. It's easy to remember the equations after you've done enough questions.

I couldn't recite all of the necessary equations for you, but if I saw a problem I would probably know the relevent equations.

Ok thanks! I've been mainly focusing on doing lots of problems, more than memorizing, so it sounds like I'm on the right track! I still find myself looking back at equations sometimes, but I'm also only a couple of weeks in, so I guess it will become more intuitive as I get in more practice!
