To answer some of your questions:
Any AVMA accredited school should put you in an equally good position to apply for internships/residencies in surgery -- assuming you make decent grades, etc. Typically (at least in the US) you'll have to do a 1yr internship followed by a 3 year residency, for surgery (and many other specialties).
Most people are able to get gov't student loans (again, assuming you are in the US), if not -- I assume you could get all private loans.??? others may have more info on that.
Life in vet school is VERY different (vs. undergrad). You become a veterinary student, nothing more/nothing less. With your stats you'll get in somewhere but I'd get more animal experience to make SURE you get in somewhere and to make sure you WANT to get in somewhere.
