Is there a general concensus on how to write these? I felt like I tried to make my PS a bit poetic and grandiose in nature. However the very limited space of the secondaries makes me feel like i should be more systematic in my approach.
1. My main issue lies with 'why this school' questions. I have compiled a small 'why are you unique' essay and feel tempted to make that perfect and then use aspects of why I am unique in combination of why I want to go to a certain school. Is there anything wrong with this? Should i write less about me and stroke the school's ego more?
2. Also, a lot of people say that you shouldnt pick a school because of a location. However I am an immigrant, and the first place I lived was a certain city. I feel like I have a connection to that city and feel like thats a valid reason (one of the reasons, not the only reason) for wanting to apply to schools in the same city. Is that still a bad reason? I have worked in one of the major hospitals in the area and feel a connection to the area and the people who live there.
3. Is it bad to write about 'why are you unique' in the 'tell us something else about you' question?
Any general tips about writing secondaries?
