Genetics or Biochemistry?

So, I need some more advice. This will be my last semester and with my course load, I have the choice between Genetics or Biochemistry (I am a non-science major, but I have fulfilled my prereqs). Which would you take? Another contributing factor, however, is that if I take Biochemistry, I would only get to take the first half of the course. Would it still be worth it?

secondly, is biochem separated into 2 semesters there? Or is it biochem I and biochem II?

I think biochem is more pertinent in applying to med school over genetics. I would say take both, but biochem might be a little more difficult than genetics.

Well, the biochem that still has room in it is biochem I and II, separated in 2 semesters. There is also a biochem that combines both into one semester, but unfortunately, it is all filled up.

So, do you think it would be okay to only take biochem I? I feel like both would be necessary if I decided that is what I wanted to take.....

well, most med schools dont require biochem but say that it is 'favored.'

Furthermore, BIOL3100 (BCMB3100) should be the biochem you should take. Biochem is just one semester. I just asked my brother who is still in school now and is currently enrolled in BIOL3100. He said that is the biochem you need to take.

Well, drop/add isnt over yet! you still have a couple days. Just look at oasis every 20 minutes for the next few days and hopefully something will come available. Is genetics open? I might just go ahead and sign up for that in hopes that biochem will come available. If not, you at least have genetics to fall back on. Also, there is an AWESOME genetics professor up there but I forgot her name 🙁

I would take Genetics personally. I wouldn't want the first time I've ever seen molecular genetics and the likes to be in Medical school.
