I'm sure some of you have noticed this-- for Georgetown's application after you cut and paste your essay, and click save, it temporarily saves it. However, if you preview it you'll find that only half is there.

Has anyone called Georgetown's office about this?

Thanks for the update!

did u check the character limit? 😉

Believe me...it's way under! Their character limit is like 5000 characters.

I think I figured it out...and I had 4996 characters.

1. Save word document as a plain text file with no indentations for the paragraphs.

2. Open in notepad. (Make sure the font is Times in Notepad).

3. Cut and paste to the essay section.

4. Hit return after every paragraph. (There will be a huge space, but it doesn't look like that on the preview).

5. Click Save.

This is the only way I was able to get my whole essay in there. With the indents for starting a new paragraph, it added almost two hundred extra characters for no reason and cut off two paragraphs from my essay.

I hope this helps.

I am having problems actually getting onto the secondary app site. I received an email from georgetown a week ago, but i didn't notice it because it was in my spam mail section. do you think there's an expiration date on the link?

No, definitely not an expiration date. You could try copy and pasting the link into your address bar instead of clicking the link. Also, try a different browser.
