I was wondering...cuz I check me email constantly.........Also while we're here, what's a troll? I've heard that word used a lot on SDN.

for the most part, interview offers will come in during normal business hours unless you check your snail-mail at night.

A troll is someone that posts inflammatory comments for the reaction they receive (like the form of fishing they "troll" for the responses). They will post mis-information, or just be overall rude in order to elicit a reaction.

I got a UT southwestern invite on a sunday at like 8pm or something...weird

I received my interview offer from VCU on a Saturday morning last year at about 11am, and my acceptance came at 603pm ET on a Thursday. It's sad when you actually know when the schools computer system updates.

i got a rejection email at 6:50 pm. One interview was 5:01 pm and all the other interviews were early in the work day (8-9 am). So i guess it can be throughout the day. sorry 😀

I got an e-mail from Downstate last night at 10:58pm my time (woulda been 11:58pm in NY)...it wasn't an interview invite though, just a response to an e-mail I had sent them earlier. It seemed rather, how shall I say, generic...but it was personalized to me (it said "Dear namsoon," haha), and someone had to be there to hit the send button, right?

alright! So i'm not crazy to be checking emails so late all the time.😀

i recieved an interview invite at like 6pm friday a few weeks ago, as well as one over a weekend.

Some time email servers get backed up so you may receive an email after 5 that was sent during normal business hours. Also with snail mail, it runs on Saturday so there is always that possibility.

Yeah, I received one medical school interview at night. All the rest were between 8 am -5 pm. None on weekends.

Yea, I thought that might have been the case for my Downstate e-mail, but I like to think there was someone on the admissions staff burning the midnight oil to respond to me 😀

there are definitely admissions staffers that burn the midnight oil at VCU..i got emails from them around 1 am!

Jefferson sent me one near midnight! It was a nice way to start the next morning though!

Mayo invite: 2:34am on a Saturday am
Case/CCLCM invite: 6:50 pm on a Wednesday pm
The rest of the invites came during the work day or snail mail.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) they can come at any time...
