get organized

bilious (or nonbilious) i'm not sure why you deleted your question, because its an important question. Being organized is a huge transition in your development. My advice is to try to do things the same every time, which will minimize forgetting things. Also, triage things from most important to least important, and spend most of your time on the most important things. This is difficult early on when you don't have the big picture quite yet, but keep asking yourself what is going on with this patient. Try to not get too lost on details. Keep a checklist of things that need doing. Memory is fallible. Go over your list often. Ask questions of your attendings if you must, but try to look it up first if you can. People like it if you've thought about it first before asking a question. Try to do some extra reading each day on your patient's problems.

That's a good start. Good luck!
