My MCAT scores are as follows:
12 VR
13 BS
13 PS
38 Overall

However, I took the MCAT in September 2013 but didn't start my full year of Physics until after that, so I self studied for the Physics on the MCAT. Will med school admissions committees see this and get impressed? Please note: I am not trying to be arrogant, I am merely stating that getting a 13 on the PS section is difficult and even more so without having actually taken Physics.

Also, I want it to be as a way to prove that I am self superficial and take initiative in my own learning.

They'll be impressed by your MCAT score, and if they notice that it was taken before you took physics they will probably be impressed with your self-study habits. It's a plus. I dunno if it's necessarily a big one, but it's a solid accomplishment.

You did well. Congratulations. I wouldn't point out "I got a 13 PS without taking physics!" anywhere on my app though.

I can't imagine anyone noticing.

Do you really need to brag that badly? You scored a 38, that's plenty impressive enough. I don't think they are even going to pay attention to when you took physics, unless you did bad.

Lol you state you aren't trying to brag, yet you tell your overall and individual scores that aren't relevant to the question? Congrats on the score, but you really need to find a better way to gain your confidence yourself instead of having to humble brag

38 already puts you in the 99 percentile. That is in itself impressive!

I would actually go in the opposite direction and make that the only line on his PS.

Might be more fun to be mysterious and have the reader do a little work:

Check out the MCAT PS score. Now look at the MCAT date.

Now look at when I took Physics.

BOOM.

My advice: retake.

Oh wait... are we not doing this?

All seriousness: congrats! Nobody will know or care that you hadn't taken physics in college at that point.

Isn't it high school level physics?

Congrats op, but I think if your app gets to the point that it's reviewed in enough detail to notice when you took your MCAT and when you took physics, the adcoms won't really care. At that point in the game, there are more important things to scrutinize IMO

Jelly of that verbal score tho.

****For future readers: It is uncommon, and highly unlikely, for someone to perform this well on a section of the MCAT which they have not studied in a formal setting. It is recommended that all students have the prerequisites finished and only take the MCAT when they are fully prepared. ****

Also, OP has another thread in which they say their MCAT score is a 34. Maybe typo, maybe trolling. Probably trolling.

The Brony is right. I detect an MCAT troll.

Much disappoint, OP.

I am the actual OP posting this right now. My friend wanted to ask this question using my account because he does not want to make a new account cause he only had one question.

@UlahSnackbar Are you just butthurt that my friend can do a lot better than you? It's the typical thing to say about someone when you are jealous

@khrisskhoras Believe me? Don't believe me? I don't care. It won't change the truth. You should be smart enough to think about it logically and think "What would he get out of trolling?"

someone call up purplelove, I think we found her (?) long lost twin sibling.

OP, this may sound a little unorthodox, but here goes. I am actually the Dean of Admissions at a top 1 US allopathic medical school (that's as specific as I'd like to be). In light of your score of 13 on the physical sciences section of the MCAT (without even taking physics yet?!?!11?), I would like to offer you not only admission to my school, but also a full-ride merit-based scholarship. You are truly an inspiration for a generation. All you need to do is withdraw all other med school acceptances. For a student as unique as you, there is no need to submit any paper work or register or anything of the sort. Just show up on the first day of class and be sure to bring a printout of your MCAT score. See you in the fall!

You're a genius, congratulations.

Pretty much no one will notice, or care

OP, be careful this doesn't sound legit. Last I heard, Harvard only gave out need-based aid!

I don't get it?

PurpleLove is the SDN username of someone who has been one of the most successful trolls on here recently. Her threads always top 400+ posts of total nonsense. It's incredible really.

you should write PS about how you scored 13 without taking physics. AUTO ACCEPTANCE

Troll or not, people like being told that they are awesome. OP, I am sure that you, your friend, or whomever will likely go on to receive an acceptance at some prestigious institution to feed your supreme ego, but all the more for the humility truck that is medical school to hit you crushingly hard. And it will. Do not think that it wont. Go brag to you friends about receiving the 13 without taking physics; this is not the place for it. Nor is it the place for trolls.

.... The only thing that makes me facepalm even harder than OP's original question is this response ..

Sorry, its hard to convey sarcasm through the internet without explicitly stating so, but then it'll completely lose its effect...

Well I got a 14 on PS without taking physics OR gen chem 2, and I can tell you with certainty ... NO ONE gave a crap.
