Getting a W, then a Pass versus 2 W's (in consecutive semesters)?

I took a W for a physio course over summer. I messed up this fall as well (taking biochem). About to go in to the final with a 70% (which is actually borderline for P/NP).

I think I could pull off a Pass but im just wondering how much worse does it look to have 2 W's in a row as compared to a W (with explanation) followed by a Pass.

has anyone had 2 W's in a row? and still get into schools
