I'm going to keep this as short as possible.

I'm interested in pharmacy school but I'm confused as to what a 6-year program is. I get that high schoolers can just hop in and complete it all in 6 years or something like that; however, I am a sophomore at a state/community college. I will be completing my A.A. in general education at the end of this fall semester and, since I just recently became interested, I know I have a lot of prereqs to do. What I'm wondering is: can I apply for a 6 year program although I have my A.A. in general education? Do I have to take all my prerequisites separately or will the 6-year program cover this? Should I just complete a B.A/B.S. and do my prereqs so I don't have to think about this?

Thanks for any and all help!

Yes, you need to complete all your prerequisites prior to entering.

From my understanding, you have to be a freshman at the school offering the 6-year program. It's competitive to transfer into. If your stats are good, you should apply once you completed most of your pre-pharmacy prerequisites and taken the PCAT. At the meantime, you can apply to 4-year colleges. Getting B.A/B.S. will increase your competitiveness.

Just finish your prereqs and apply to a 4-year program. If you get into a 0-6, you'll be a freshman and will have to take everything over again.

This. Makes no sense getting your A.A. then applying to 0-6 year. Just get your AA, take the PCAT and apply.
