I received some very helpful feedback from one of the medical schools I interviewed at but was ultimately rejected from for the 2018-2019 cycle (my first application cycle). Among a couple other things I've already addressed, they recommended updating and adding new letters and broadening my shadowing experience, both of which are easy for me to facilitate at my current hospital clinic job.

The problem is that I did not hear this until last Friday and obviously we're all about to submit primaries in a few days, so I can't show this school I've made any progress on it during that time (and submitting as early as possible is very important to me).

My tentative plan is to request updated letters / ask for new letters from providers I work with this week, and try to organize new shadowing experiences in the next couple months, and submit these updates through AMCAS and/or secondary portals after the fact. I don't know what else I can do except not reapply immediately, but my MCAT (511) is only good for this and one more cycle and I otherwise feel confident I can do well if I try again.

My main fear is that it will appear I heard their feedback and didn't listen. Is this a reasonable plan? Are there any glaring problems with this I'm missing? What would you do?

My hurry is that I'm turning 30 next March and my MCAT is only valid for this cycle and one more. While I personally have met people who started medical school later than 30, I have no desire to follow in their footsteps and delay my career even longer than I already have. I've spent the last 5 years course-correcting solely in the pursuit of medicine and I've sacrificed a lot in that time, including sacrificing relationships and starting a family. I want to get on with my life is the hurry.

Where is your state of residence ? What are your sGPA and cGPA ? Any physician shadowing or clinical volunteering or employment hours ?
