Ok so my situation is that the IRS decided to slap me with a $5000 bill from back in 2008 when I had my own business, apparently my filing was incorrect. As of now I was taking a full load of summer science courses but there is no way for me to continue since the IRS will simply levy my bank account and take my car is I don't pay. Will Dental schools consider it a problem if I were to drop to half-time over the summer and get an I in one course that I am going to take next quarter anyway? I have to address this tax bill and that requires some free time to work...
additional info
Im a 4.0 student and this would be basically the only blemish on my academic record in 3 years.

It's a point worth mentioning on your personal essay. I highly doubt it will affect much with your application as long as you explain it in the interviews or your application if there is a spot for it.

I agree, just make sure you are able to explain it, maybe you dont have to go into too much detail since its kind of personal...or maybe you want to go into detail, its your call. Just make sure there is an explanation somewhere on your application.
