Getting an MD from a DO school...

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
On another tangent -- Most common topics I've observed in pre-osteo vs pre-allo (paraphrased):

Pre-osteo
1) "{Is it possible to,How do I} get an MD and a DO degree?????????????" (extra question marks added for urgency)
2) "So I was at work in the hospital today and the guy who was there fixing the air conditioning said he gives orders to DOs! What do I do?!?!!?"
3) "I want to be a DO but I dont want to do Family Practice!! HELP!!!!"

Pre-allo
1) "Can I classify myself as URM?"
1a) "URMs are taking all of my spots!"
2) "Hopkins vs. Harvard (seriously, I don't know which one to pick!!)"
3) "I'm in 5th grade, what is the best middle school, high school, college, medical school, and residency to be a dermatologist?!?"

Oh, my sides still hurt from laughing about this one. This is going to tie with JP Hazelton's DO Photomontage post, for posts that make me LOL.

I 😍 SDN; many hours of amusement to be had. Keep up the good work guys 👍

You left out all of the questions that are basically asking everyone to answer a secondary essay topic because people can't think for themselves.

And the questions about how many expensive cars & supersized mansions people are planning on buying. 🙄

So tell me about a time when you had to make a tough decision. I'll read it later because I'm on the phone with the lamborghini dealership right now

There's only one man with the power and cunning to be both an MD and a DO...

Chuck Norris

Is there anything Walker cannot do?

Do not forget that he is part Cherokee, so he may even be able to be MD, DO, WitchDoctor all in one.

*strolls into pre-osteo forum hoping to get away from the idiocy in pre-allo*

Did you watch the rest of this episode...everyone knows that chuck norris can cure aids with his tears so this kid was fine

actually I heard the same thing. I heard it depends on the exams you take. I have actually seen someone with both an MD and a DO. I think it is true. Its not like a choice thing. More like a boards thing. It depends on the exams you want to take. Going to a DO school gives you so many more options. I think it is cool. DO schools all the way!
And my high school let me choose if I wanted a diploma or a B.S in Microbiology

I know some doctors who are Dr. John Doe MD, DO - they all went allopathic and went back and retook osteopathic (some of the courses were waived because of their MD status - I think it took 2.5 more years for the extra degree)

😀

That or something more subtle like a thread called, "Have you ever faced a moral dilemma?"
