Hey guys, first time posting here!

I have a pretty good GPA (3.6<) and unfortunately I had a heavy unit load and got a C in an online stats course. From what I understand, medical schools do NOT accept online courses? My transcript does not designate the class as online or not, so when I apply could I tell AMCAS and have the C not count towards my AMCAS GPA? I have taken only one other online class for my gen ed and got an A but I wouldn't mind disclosing that in order to get that C not factored into my GPA.

Thanks for the advice, and sorry if this was answered, I tried searching and couldn't find a sufficient answer!

You understand wrong. Most accept online courses. Those that don't still factor them into your GPA.

Concur with yanks, amcas will count it, some schools will just not use it towards their admissions requirements. A+C average out to a B so it shouldn't be the end of the world.

Online courses may not be recognized to improve your GPA by some schools, and may not count toward your pre-reqs, but they will certainly be included in the transcripts you send to med schools, and will be counted by AMCAS toward your GPAs. Sorry.

Ah ok. Thanks for the advice everybody! Much appreciated.

One C is not going to matter to your application overall. Don't worry about it.

As others said the grade definitely counts and most schools do accept online classes in general; it's just that often they won't accept online courses in prerequisites that have a lab component (even in that case AMCAS would calculate the GPA using the grade).
