If you have more than 10 or 12 days to go, take a day off, have a few beers, relax by the pool. don't think about school and you will be much better off when you return.
If less than that, take half a day off (the second half).

lol, didn't you just ask about cutting down on hours of sleep to be more productive?

1. look at pictures when your mind is tired or listen to goljan
2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4Uv_4jGgAM

Listening to goljan when I don't want to study = road to burn out

Those audios aren't even that great when you compare them to what's out there today (Uworld, FA, etc).

Anyway, I don't blame OP. It is really f'ing boring studying all day.

Agree take a day off ..go out with some NON medical friends and just have fun. Don't drink too much or that hangover will continue till the next day lol

I just went outside for the first time in 72 hours. NBME 7 pissed me off... At first I was all, :whoa:. And then I was like . Life outside of my 615 sqft apt and Step1 was exhilarating.

You'll survive.. I hate it too.....I am not eminem... you only got one opportunity to blow!

Seeing your abilities displayed on SDN... I know you'll do alright... now go take that well deserved 1 day off.... and get ur azz back to studying!

lol I just spent an hour watching hockey and the end of the last harry potter. made me shed manly tears

take some time to exercise everyday. I found that was the best solution to study fatigue.

Non-medical friends?? I don't want any non-medical friends!

lol, are you being sarcastic? otherwise, whats wrong with you? I have friends from med school, im not schizoid, but I mostly like hanging out with non med school friends.

And yea about getting tired of studying... at this point not even days off fixes the problem. Dont mean to sound arrogant or anything but ive gotten into the 260s on practice exams and this finding has kinda zapped my motivation to study 10 hours per day.

Whens ur exam

Next Thursday. Im planning on doing 2 more nbmes and doing a final pass of FA. I had originally scheduled it for Jun 30, thankfully I rescheduled, I would have gone crazy waiting that long to take it.

thats a tall order when it comes to the SDN crowd, but ill try.

So jelly. I'm kind of in the same situation. I hit my target scores midway into dedicated study (lower than 260) so now I'm having a hard time finding the motivation to push past it.

Glad I am not the only one. Anything you are doing in particular to push through?

Sweet, dude. It feels pretty good to be honest. I finished Pathoma + Goljan audio, so now I don't really have anything to study passively. I'm just doing as many questions as I can, trying to retain as much information as possible until I take the exam. Less than two weeks away! So pumped.

yeah, I can't wait til that day comes for me...when I keep hitting that 270 in my practice exams and I don't feel any motivation left to push through. ::licking lips in anticipation::
