i'll be starting school next year at penn or temple and would like to get the most clinical experience out of my four years as possible. i've heard of shadowing/assisting d3/4's, shadowing/assisting dentists, and taking ce as time permits. any other suggestions to squeeze in more experience?
thanks

CE won't necessarily give you clinical experience.

Of all those options you mentioned, probably the most time effective would be to assist in your school clinics. This familiarizes you with how your clinics function, is easy to access (ie, you don't have to drive 20 minutes away to shadow a dentist), and allows you to build some level of relationship with D3/D4 students as well as clinical faculty.

That's probably your best bet, in my opinion.
