I'm heading to Temple late August, starting medical school. I'm not a Pennsylvanian resident. Recently however, I have purchased a condo (with some help from the parents), and was wondering if this could be used to gain an in-state tuition rate. Has anyone any experience with this for Pennsylvania, and particularly Temple? Is it possible for this to take effect this year? I am a US citizen (born here), so i don't need to worry about green cards and other assorted headaches.

i think as long as your name is on the mortgage, then you shouldn't have much trouble getting the 'in-state' tuition deal from temple... Call the financial aid office and ask them to send you out the materials...

Check with financial aid...the only problem is that some schools base tuition on your residency status at the time of application and refuse to change that. I ran across this problem a few years ago when I was applying to PA schools and asked the same question.

... in-state status is determined by the state on your AMCAS application.
