I am a freshman in LIU. Does anybody know what will be a competitive GPA to get into the professional Pharmacy Program? After the first semester my GPA is 3.7 with A in Science and math. I am pretty sure that my GPA will be more than 3.8 before my interview. Like many pre-pharmacy students in LIU I do not have any experience. Is it really necessary to gain some kind of experience? Although I am in a 0-6 years pharmacy program in LIU, I have to go through PCAT, interview and all other process to be accepted in the professional phase. It is really hard to find a job in any pharmacy without Pharmacy Tech. Certificate. I am really confused. 🙁🙁🙁

It's not necessary, but it's greatly preferred that you get some experience.

Hello Rafi,
I am sure you are already done with your second year now. Do you mind telling me what your GPA and pcat score were? I just finished my freshman year at LIU. Two of my professors haven't posted grades up yet, but so far my cumulative GPA is a 3.93.. I am also concerned about work experience... Does everyone who got in have work experience? I don't think so. I'm also scared for orgo and physics! I hear terrible things about those classes, so I would like to know how you did. Thank you so much. I tried to PM you but it wouldn't post to my sent messages.. You can reply through PM if you like, or on here, whichever is better for you. Thanks

there are usually 200-220 seats in this school. But about 150 of them are already taken before you even apply so basically 60-70 seats leftover for people who are not already prepharm at this school. I read from years prior some waitlisters never get called so I would harass them as much as possible. Otherwise, they will be too lazy to contact you.
