getting into pharmacy school

Hello all, i got a D in chemistry 1 is there any hope that i can get into pharmacy school if i do well in the rest of my prerequisites, also is there anything outside of school that i should do to help increase my odds, I'm a sophomore in college by the way. thank you

Retake it and get an A. If you can't even handle getting an A or B in gen chem you probably won't be successful in pharmacy school. If you just didn't work hard enough then make sure you work harder for the rest of your classes and you'll be fine.

You need to retake the course. Most if not all schools require a C or better in prerequisite courses. Check the pharmCAS school directory if you have questions on it. You can also look up this information on the school you want to apply to.

Yup. A lot of people that get C's in Uni classes retake them at CC.

You can retake it whenever you feel like you are ready. I would make sure you don't wait too long as there are time limits on prerequisites for pharmacy school (have to be taken within 5-10 years). So it really depends on yourself; ie: when you plan to pursue admission to pharmacy school, if you want to get a bachelor degree or just finish the prerequisites, etc.

Let's be honest here, this guy got a D in chemistry I for God's sake, do you really want him calculating the osmolarity of intravenous infusions or trying to figure out if a drug will be dialyzed? Pharmacy school would run you over like a train. Maybe you are better suited for something in the arts.

Sure you can get in (anyone can as long as you're willing to sign away $200k+ in loans), but that does not mean that you will necessarily graduate, pass the NAPLEX, find a job, or be a competent pharmacist.
