According to a recent PreMedLife article, the trend is that getting into residency is becoming increasingly difficult for new med school grads. How much truth is there really in that? I have spoken to medical students, and I have never met one who said anything about med school grads having a hard time to get into a residency. One student attending the Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) even said that the school has some type of guarantee that you will get into a residency, just not necessarily one that you want. I almost think the article was talking about off-shore grads rather than US grads.
