Getting into UK Specialty Training

I would like to know if its very hard to get into Specialty Training (Psychiatry pref).
I have studied from EU medical school and would like to start Specialty training.
Also, do you get stipend in this program? And what is the eligibility criteria?

You need to complete your foundation years - first 2 years after med school. It's a national application system - you apply around October/November I think. After that you apply for specialist training. Psychiatry is not particularly competitive.

Is it the same system in Ireland? Because I read on the internet that i can apply for S.H.O. posts after completing my internship in Ireland.
Also, please tell me around what time can i apply for foundation years? Is october/November for FY programme? Because i will graduate in August end and need to get registered with GMC. Maybe I will be late then.

I have no idea about Ireland, it is completely separate. I don't remember the exact timings of when you apply for foundation but it is something like October. You have to do some other kind of form with your med school much earlier than that from what I remember too. You should check out the GMC website.

I guess i will be late for upcoming October jobs for FY because I will graduate in August plus it takes 2-3 months to get registered with GMC.

So, imagining I wanted to do my specialty training in the UK, which steps would I need to take in order to achieve this (I am a EU citizen studying in an EU school)? In order words, what do I need to do after finishing the foundation programme?

I've visited various sites regarding this issue but I can't seem to determine the exact order of the steps.

Any help would be appreciated.
