Hi All,

I am reconsidering staying in LA again to do my post-bacc courses on my own at UCLA. However I would like to treat the courses as a program and will be quitting my job in order to study full time and try to complete everything in one year (I know, I'm killing myself :scared: )

However, to study full time I still need to take out loans to cover my living expenses. Does anybody know of a student loan company I could approach to borrow money from without being in a formal program? My needed loan amount will be considerable since I'll need to cover my rent, my car, gas, etc etc etc. for a year and two summers.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thx!

I am not sure that this is the answer that you are looking for, but, through UCLA Extension's Introductory Science Certificate program you are eligible for financial aid (Stafford loans). However, it may not be enough to fully support you. Were you planning on taking everything through the undergraduate program? If you go through Extension you might be able to concurrently enroll in some regular undergrad courses and use the financial aid to help pay for it. Also, be aware that you have no choice but to take the chem labs concurrently if you take the chem series in the Extension program. They are not always the easiest to get in to. Hope this was at least a little helpful!
