Getting off waitlists (two questions)

Question 1:

Do you send an letter right after you receive a waitlist, aka around now. Or do you wait until the end of april closer to the time they will make decisions?

Question 2:
If you have already sent a letter of intent, what would you send additionally? A letter stating that you still have them as your first choice? Or just an update? Can you be too repetitive?

Send a letter if you have something new to say. Did you happen to find out why you were waitlisted? Have you done anything to improve your app since then? Any new grades to report? Send updates if this is the case! I'm not sure if there's any value in sending another letter of intent if it basically paraphrases your first one.
