I am a second year in a MA clinical psych program and I do not want to go to a PhD program AT ALL anymore. I'm not sure if I want to stick in the MH field unless it's performing research or-- admittedly, pays well, which we all know a big salary is rare.

More than not, I will go back to school for something else. My first option is occupational therapy, but I am also considering some kind of business degree. Biomedical engineering is a distant frontrunner. Again, I know I will have to go back to school, and if I truly love a career path, I will do whatever it takes to complete it, but sometimes, reality gets in the way. Therefore, I am looking for jobs that I don't have to jump through hoops for (i.e., get another 4-yr degree, blah blah...)

Does anyone know of jobs that are fairly easy to transition to with a clinical psych degree?

You could consider working in higher education, particularly in a student services area (Career counseling, disabilities services, res life, etc). A lot of people working in higher ed have backgrounds in psychology or counseling.

And if you can land a full time job at a university with programs you are potentially interested in, you can not only take classes for free to "try" them out, but you can get your degree for free once you have settled on a path. Most universities provide tuition remission for employees (not to mention decent pay and good benefits compared to other similar occupations).

Was there anything in your experience in the mater's program that deterred you away from psychology?
