I am a non-trad DIY postbacc student, and Im interested in doing some light research, as I also work a full time job. How would I go about this?

The best place to start would be at the institution where you are doing the Postbacc classes. There could be a research center that could connect you. If not, most labs/faculty have some sort of webpage describing what they do. Look through them and contact the faculty member who works on something that interests you.

If you are not at an institution that has robust research faculty, things get more difficult.

Luckily I am at a very research heavy institue. But considering I am just starting to take classes this fall, should I try now or wait a semester or two?
