How essential is it to get secondary done early when your MCAT score is not out yet? I took MCAT in August and have been receiving secondaries.

Would it be okay to send in secondaries later when I know my MCAT score, which will not be till October? Or is it just too risky and I better submit my secondaries right away?

The thing is I have no idea how I did on the MCAT (yes, something weird happened and I wasn't usual myself during the physcial science section, so I cannot even guess my score). If the committee isn't going to bother to look at my file until they get my score, does that mean it's okay for me to send in my secondary later as well? I mean, what if my MCAT score is so poor that I better withdraw all my applications? (though it's the last thing I want)

They might seem stupid questions, but please help me out! Thanks!!

No no no. Don't wait so long. You want to have everything in (secondary app, LORs) so that when your MCAT score comes out, you file will be complete. It will help you to get reviewed faster, and hopefully get accepted quicker.

thanks for your reply!
One more thing, so as long as I get it done before they get my MCAt score is good enough?
Right now, it's just so hectic--I need to find a place to move out in two weeks and a new job. Not that getting my secondaries done is less important than those issues, but I definitely don't want to jeopardize the quality of my secondary by rushing it through.

More or less, as long as everything's in before the scores come in, you're fine. It can take a while after secondaries actually arrive at the school before they're actually processed and placed in your file, though ... so if I were you, I'd try to have everything arrive at the school by, say, a week before you expect your MCAT scores? ish.

hey i could havew written this post. i also hav eno idea how i did b/c of the situation i experienced durin the test, particularly the morning sections. But i am submitting everything anyway. it's the only test scores i have so i have no choice. if i did poorly, i'll just have to retake and reapply next year.

there's nothing else i can do now; it's all in God's hands now, all i can do is pray..

hey guys,

some of the secondaries want mcat scores on them so what do i do in this instance? like Johns Hopkins.

I took the august MCAT and don't have any scores to report in the secondaries!

Those may have to wait. However, make sure you get your LOR's sent out.
