Hey guys, The big storm came and went yesterday, congrats to all who got in, good luck to all still waiting!

I interviewed at VCU on Nov 8th and I loved it! I would go there in a heartbeat, but yesterday I didnt get that offer made update on AADSAS and im crushed. My interviews went great, My first one was with Dr. Healy himself and it went so well. i dont know what happened, we shared a few jokes, talked about NJ (where we are both from) and i had great answers to all his questions, my second interview went well also, it was with this older professor who wears the cutest bow ties! He told me, "this looks like your year, but i think we might wait for fall grades" then on his notepad (where he wrote all my answers and made notes, he wrote wait for fall grades) WHY??!...I am freaking out because this is my second time applying, I applied to 23 schools 3.6 undergrad GPA, 3.4 Science 3.5 BCP 20AA 23 TS 19PAT, 500+ hours shaddowing, and great leadership....I ONLY GOT 2 Interviews, I started a masters program at UMDNJ this August but I had sent in my dental school app June 1st so I emailed all schools every little detail about the program and my classes
...I was crushed because now I feel like I dont have much of a chance to get in, and I really don't think they liked me much, and it sucked more when I read here yesterday that If you had a pre-dec interview, your chances of getting in during the second or third round of acceptances are slim. I emailed Dr. Healy this morning and he told me that I am still an active candidate, also my next interview is at Nova on Jan 5th, and I'm even more scared about that one because I feel like they interview soo many other people I will not even stand a chance
someone please make me feel a little better or tell me how it is, because I cannot get a peace of mind, knowing that I will not be accepted this year either 🙁🙁🙁🙁

I know what you are going through. Last year I only had two interviews and one was with Nova which was a post-dec interview. I didnt receive an acceptance for my pre-dec and was really worried about my Nova interview because so much was riding on it. Needless to say, I did not get in.

Here is my take on the whole Nova interview and number of applicants they interview. Nova interviews a ton of people, because of this Nova puts a lot of people on their waitlist. The wait list is very large and I dont know if they are still doing this, but last year they ranked it high to low priority. Having this kind of list makes them choose anybody they want because, essentially they keep a majority of there interviewees.

My interview went really well in my opinion. The interviewer and I discussed a lot of topics and I felt like I had a connection with the interviewer. But one thing I didnt like about the interview was that I felt, they didnt take the time to go through my application and was just asking the scripted ques that are found on sdn.

So my take on a post-dec interview with them is, you have to really impress them and stand out. I felt I had a great interview because of my ECs etc...but ultimately got a rejection.

I'm not going to sugarcoat it, you have an uphill battle to get accepted with Nova. I feel that you will have a lot more interviews once you finish your masters and apply next year, showing that you were able to succeed in the program throughout. Good luck and I hope you the best.

so sorry to hear, i hope you get in this cycle, im hoping to get more interviews next semester after my fall grades are in....hopefully (fingers crossed)

Hey dont worry about the interviews, if its meant to be it will happen.

I noticed that you said you have an interview at NOVA on January 5th.

So do I!!!

Im really excited about it. Obviously Nova is a great school and I would definately decline my other two offers of admission if i got a chance to attend Nova.

Any idea where I could find the interview questions that they ask at Nova?
