Global Health Research Ethics, Part 1: Gaining Experience

excellent article! global health missions work is fairly undervalued in the medical community. This is a setting rich in opportunity for research and exposure to clinical situations rarely seen domestically. I am in the latter 1/2 of a doctoral program in global health and do medical missions as often as I can fit them into my schedule. This is an enormously rewarding activity and I would encourage anyone considering it to go ahead and take the plunge. These trips are life altering for the participants as well as those they serve.
