I am a current MS1, and over the course of anatomy I realized that I have developed an allergy to nitrile gloves. I already have an allergy to latex gloves, so my only option now is hypoallergenic nitrile gloves. I have been providing them for myself during labs and when seeing patients, but this is tedious.
Over the past few weeks I have become increasingly stressed about what this will mean long-term for me. How big of a hurdle will this be for me in residency? It is a viable option for me to somehow carry around gloves at all times during residency? It may also be the case that I am allergic to sterile gloves, though I am not yet sure whether this is the case.
Does anyone have any experience with anything like this? Any advice would be appreciated.
