Hi,

I recently got an II from AZCOM after being on the interview waitlist. I already was accepted to Touro-NV, and I'm trying to decide if it is worth the cost to fly out to AZ.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the caliber of Touro-NV versus AZCOM? I also cannot find the 2015 COMLEX pass rates for Touro NV, anyone have those?

Thanks in advance

During my interview day I fell in love with the school. Can't comment on Touro-NV as I haven't interviewed there.

The big question is: Can you see yourself going to AZCOM over TUNCOM if you were accepted? If so then I would advise you to go. You only get one chance to check out the school. Who knows? Maybe you'll like it better than Touro.

AZCOM is the more competitive of the 2 schools & has been around for quite a bit.

AZCOM hasn't been around for that long, but it is more competitive.

I don't think azcom is worth the cost after tuncom. If you want to go and have the money then you should. However, it's hard to justify that added cost.

Aye the tuition difference is nothing to sneeze at. Maybe go to see if you will absolutely fall in love with it. It also will most likely be a more laid back interview on your part as you know you are already sitting on a solid acceptance

I didn't expect to like AZCOM as much as I did, but after my interview I, like Drkube, fell in love with it. So if you're still open to another school to choose from and the cost of the tuition isn't an instant dealbreaker, no reason why not I reckon.

Same as CDWelsh and DrKube. I didn't expect to like AZCOM as much as I did. I actually almost didn't even interview there! But I'm so happy I went, I loved the school and the people I met. Interviewing at any med school is a wonderful opportunity so I would say go for it. Maybe you can stay in AZ for a while and check out some sights or the baseball spring training.

Just take it as an opportunity to also visit Sedona and the Grand Canyon. I did so before my interview and very glad I did because I didn't know when I would have another opportunity to do so. Its one of the perk of traveling for interviews. Glad I have a full time job to afford my travel though.

I interviewed at both TUN and AZCOM and picked AZCOM in the end. Take that however you will.

I got accepted to a few DO schools, but chose AZCOM in the end. you will know whether you do or don't like it pretty fast on the interview. I don't know much about TUN, but I will say that our dean is amazing, professors are pretty good, and rotations are solid. Whatever you pick, It will be medical school and you will have sleepless nights at home or in a 24 hour coffee shop. good luck!

Mind Sharing your stats? I got interview waitlisted and my friend with the exact (I mean EXACT) same stats got an II Today. I'm hoping to interview later on... I hope

I did not like my Touro Nevada interview at all. AZCOM is a much superior school in my opinion.

This. After my first acceptance I went to the following interview with a robe and flip flops... I got rejected post II 🙁 Im going to call Monday to see what went wrong with my app.

I was accepted at both. I chose AZCOM due to the well established rotations and better chance for specialization. TUNCOM is implementing drastic changes to curriculum to improve specialization match, but it's just starting the process. AZCOM has the stats to show it.
