Hi Everyone,
I'm not exactly a new member here..but I decided to pursue a career in pharmacy.
okay..so some people are really curious about my current job..it doesn't matter what i do right now. can we concentrate on my question instead of my job. thanks!

My question is: will pharmacy schools look down on me if i take all my prereq. classes at a community college?
Honestly, I don't have the money to go back to my university to take the science classes.

Depends on the school

Do a search. There has been multiple threads on this topic and they might still be on the first page.

I graduated in 2009 with a sociology degree and I didn't enjoy this field.
😕

Probably not, but it's always best to ask the specific schools. Sometimes they can be stringent about some or all prerequisites and where they're taken.

So you worked in the field of sociology with a bachelor's degree? What exactly did you do?

Read more closely. She "didn't enjoy this field." AKA the field of unemployment. Just kdding. 😀

I think the unemployed comment was pretty rude. Don't comment if it doesn't contribute to the conversation - extra comments that serve no meaningful purpose and that might hurt someone's feelings is called being rude.

As far as community schools, some states have legal agreements with community colleges to take a certain percentage of students. You have to check with the school or state department of education. As long as you meet the prerequisites, have good references or experience, and a good PCAT score, the school you came from probably has little bearing. There should be a pre-health counselor at your community college who can find out for you if you ask. Good luck!

I took my prereqs at 2 different community colleges. Neither had a pre-health counselor. In fact, the counselors were completely useless to me. Having a well-rounded app definitely helped. As stated above, talk to the school you want to attend, then meet their prereqs. Good luck!
