Hi I'm going to AAD for the first time this year. What do I need to know about it? What is it like? What do I wear while I'm there?

Thanks!

If you're a resident, don't be sober for too long and you'll be just fine.

If you're a med student, don't be drunk for too long and you'll be just fine.

It's a huge party in many ways and a lot of people are seeing each other after a while and going to want to hang out.

I'll leave fashion advice to others...

look for the hand-j booth. best to get there early.

as for what to wear, probably a sundress or a kimono. good luck!

things to know about the conference, huh?

dress is generally business casual but some folks wear jeans and some will have suits on.

it's like a big party in a lot of ways, with lots of reunions, dinners, and free gatherings. the dermpath diagnostics party has been totally over the top since i've been going

the "floor" of vendors is huge and impressive. you could (should?) fill a whole suitcase with the samples you get.

you can change your schedule on the fly and go to things you didn't sign up for if 1) the session is free and 2) the session isn't completely full.

Dermpath diagnostics isn't throwing a party this year

I see other med students go occasionally for kicks, went to the summer ones because of a poster, but I don't think there honestly much value to going to these things beyond that as a student.

I hear some people try to find ways to schmooze at social event, but don't know any faculty wouldn't pick up on it. Expensive event when it's far too.
