I will be finishing my BA in philosophy and religious studies this year from Skidmore College's University Without Walls. There, you take most classes online, but you can take some in person. Well, I took most online as I wasn't considering a field in medicine.

Do post-bacs have admission requirements? Which are better than others? I didn't do any pre-med requirements, so I'd need to do them all in undergrad.

I would like to go into a joint MD/PhD program. I'm not picky on where it is at, as long as I can get in. I will be finishing college with a ~3.78 GPA.

Suggestions?

Without any science research it's going to be very hard for you to get into a MD/PhD program. I would suggest doing some research, then finding a good post-bac program. I'm not sure how postbacs view online courses, but it can't hurt to find call some of the top postbac programs and ask.

Distance learning is discouraged in med schools but since you are going to do a post-bac you should be fine. Don't do a distance learning post-bac.

To get into an MD/PhD program you need to have a much more competitive application than the normal med school applicant (above 3.5 30MCAT). Don't even bother applying to MD/PhD if you do not break 30.

You need a very significant amt of research. A summer in a lab is not enough. You also need publications, preferably as the first author.

Post-bacs have admisson requirements. There should be a sticky at the top of the post-bac forum. If not make use of the search function.
