Good day all, entering temple class of 2017, and just wondering if a laptop is required or a tablet will suffice (I actually prefer to take notes by hand, I remember it better). I have a really nice tablet and desktop now, so I would rather not buy another laptop, but if needed will bite the bulllet.

A lot of students at Temple actually print the powerpoint slides onto paper and take notes on paper that way. About 30% of the students bring their laptops with the powerpoints already downloaded and they type notes into the slides directly during lecture.

Most students bring a laptop to type notes. Students with tablets usually have a keyboard attachment .. however there are probably 10-15 students who do this. Very few students take hand written notes as there is an enormous amount of material that would have to be printed.

I also decided on Temple for 2017 and I was wondering if I should get a tablet before school starts or wait for the 3rd year when I would need it the most?

Every student should buy the Samsung Galaxy note 10.1. It really is amazing. And I think they are coming out with a version designed for medical students
