Hello,

I have an extracted tooth with a large gold onlay on it. I would like your input on what I can do to get to most out of it price wise. I know a metal guy that can come to the office to get it but I feel like I get ripped off when he does. Any suggestions???

Thanks

Well, the ethical path was to give the patient back the tooth with the gold. You make the patient aware that it does have value. If they don't want it then you can do with it as you desire. If you didn't make the patient aware then they were the one who was ripped off (your words).

The patient didn't want it so I am doing what I want with it. But thanks for the ethics lecture professor.

My mother's jeweler had an easy way to separate tooth from gold. He had to combine this gold with something else to make her a ring
