Hi,

I'm about to order a Goldmann 3-mirror lens and I wanted to see if someone knows of any major differences between the 903 and the 630 models. I know one has a smaller lens diameter than the other but is there any big difference in the view you get?. Both are made by Haag-Streit.

Thanks

Same view. Longer barrel on the 903. A lot of that is personal preference. Some feel the longer barrel gives you more control, but others will say it's harder to keep a stable view. Reason being that small movements translate to larger movements with a long barrel lens compared to a short barrel lens.

Get an Ocular Instruments Karickhoff 4-mirror instead. It has all the mirror angles of the Haag-Streit and a fourth mid-peripheral mirror. It is made in the USA, in Washington state. They also give you a better case than the Haag Streit plastic screw-top.

Thanks for both of you.
