I haven't actually done it yet, but I think it he opens the files with Quicktime he can do it.

Top Menu-->Window-->Show A/V Controls-->Playback Speed

What speed are you finding you can listen to Goljan and still understand?

Do the files have to be converted before they're opened w/ quicktime? I think they're in mp3 form now (played by itunes).

I like Goljan best at about 1.7. I can understand and keep up just fine.

Have her quit quicktime (apple q) then try it again, go to the mp3 and right click...etc. For some reason that opens QuickTime audio player for me whereas opening quicktime (mainly a video player) and then opening the mp3 won't read it. Hopefully that works.

I don't know about mac, but this is what I did. I downloaded Golden Wave Editor (cracked version via torrent) and then sped up the files. This let me then put them on my ipod so I could listen to the faster files wherever I wanted. I'm not sure if GWE is available for the mac though.

So on the internet, I once saw a blogspot blog posting that had links to mp3s of Goljan lectures "on crack" (i.e., already saved at 1.6 speed). I'm not sure if it's more work to find the site or to do the conversion on your own, but it might be worth a look.

I'm trying to use GWE, but am having all kinds of trouble. I just cannot get it to output 2x files of the mp3 I load. I'm usually pretty tech saavy and would have no trouble with this. Frustrating.

If it is goljan, I found that anything faster than 1.3 was nearly impossible to understand

I listened to 1X for the first time and 1.7X for the second time. It's just boring to death if you listen to him again with the normal speed.
